St. Joseph School depends on tuition, fundraising, and its own strategic management of resources to support the high quality, Catholic education in the Jesuit tradition.

Financial Aid

St. Joseph is committed to being accessible to students from all socio-economic backgrounds. If tuition assistance is needed, St. Joseph School has an extensive need-based financial-aid program. This year, we awarded $1,500,000 in financial aid to our students.

St. Joseph School uses School and Student Service for Financial Aid (SSS), a service of the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS), to provide an objective, consistent methodology for calculating a family’s ability to contribute to tuition. The school makes the final decision on each student’s financial aid.

  • Please visit School and Student Services for Financial Aid Family Portal.
Note: only one (1) application is required for each family, (unless the family maintains more than one (1) household). Divorced or separated parents must each complete an SSS application and submit the supporting documentation before the student can be considered for financial aid
  • The St. Joseph school code is 4137. There is a fee for the online application, payable by credit, debit card PayPal or eCheck
  • Create a user name and password which allows you to save without submitting a completed application so that you can go back to it later
  • Follow the "Complete your Parents' Financial Statement (PFS)" link and begin your application
  • Upload copies of the required documents (listed below) to your SSS account.

SSS Customer Service is available to answer your questions at 1-800-344-8328, Monday through Friday 6:00 am - 8:00 pm and Saturday from 6:00 am to 1:00 pm PST.

  • 2022 Federal Income Return (Form 1040), including all schedules
  • 2022 W-2s and 1099s
  • 2023 Federal Income Tax Return (Form 1040), including all schedules
  • 2023 W-2s and 1099s

If you already uploaded the 2022 tax returns and Schedule K-1 in your prior year’s application, you do not need to upload them again. If you filed an amended tax return, please ensure that you upload the amended tax return. Based on the school’s evaluation of your financial aid application, the school may ask you to provide additional documentations. It is the family’s responsibility to ensure that their financial aid application is complete and accurate. The school cannot evaluate a family’s financial aid need based on an incomplete application.

Families who receive financial aid awards for 2024-2025 will be notified by the Business Office as soon as possible. The school reserves the right to adjust conditional financial aid awards granted based on additional information from the 2023 tax return. For families who wish to appeal their financial aid, please contact the Business Office.

St. Joseph School reviews financial aid needs on a yearly basis to take into consideration changes in a family’s financial circumstances. A family’s financial aid award in one year does not guarantee support for the following year.

For new applicants, completed financial aid applications (including 2023 supporting documents) are due by February 28, 2024 so financial aid awards can be included with acceptance offers.
