Mission & Philosophy

Our Mission

The mission of St. Joseph School is to create a faith-centered community that educates and inspires students to reach their God-given potential.

Our Vision

At St. Joseph School, we believe in making the highest quality, Jesuit, Catholic education accessible and affordable to all. We are committed to developing, recruiting, and compensating outstanding educators who deliver a proven and challenging curriculum to a diverse student body. We are intent on developing and maintaining an excellent facility where all students are able to achieve their God-given potential and are prepared for the rigors of the world they encounter. Central to all of this is a nurturing and inclusive community, rooted in our Ignatian and Catholic values, where everyone belongs.

At the center of our mission and vision is a belief that within each child lives a God-given gift that will bring good to the world. Whether it is a brilliant mind or a talent for singing, it is our job to help each child discover their gift, develop it and use it for good in the world. We do this by focusing on educating the whole child: head, heart and hands.

All are welcome in a Catholic school, regardless of race, religion, sexual orientation, political beliefs or personal history. We educate because we are Catholic and strive to be a welcoming community for all people. By choosing a Catholic school taught in the Jesuit tradition, you are entering into a relationship that sees the parent as the primary educator of the child, and the school as a primary partner in the child's education.

Our Philosophy

St. Joseph School develops students who are growing, learning, reverent, loving, and just.

As a Catholic school steeped in the Gospel values and the Jesuit and Sisters of the Holy Names of Jesus and Mary traditions, the guiding philosophy of St. Joseph School is to provide a student-centered learning environment committed to the development of the whole child.

St. Joseph’s provides a STRUCTURE to address all students’ unique growth, challenging students intellectually to:

  • develop critical thinking skills;
  • understand and accept a diverse society;
  • appreciate the beauty of creation.

St. Joseph School provides the SUPPORT for reflection and growth by working in partnership with our parents to stress:

  • the formation of character and leadership;
  • the necessity of service to others;
  • the importance of lifelong learning.
