Frequently Asked Questions

In an effort to aid you in the Admissions Process, we are addressing some of the most common questions that we receive regarding the admissions process. If your question is not answered or you have others, please reach out to our Director of Enrollment Management.

Families should begin their applications in the Fall, one year before they wish to enroll. The application portal will open on October 1 and the application deadline is February 1.

Yes! St. Joseph School is committed to an economically diverse student body. Therefore, we provide financial assistance to families on the basis of need. Awards are available to qualified students in kindergarten through eighth grade, who have submitted all the required documents by the stated deadline.

Yes! the Jaguar Club extended day program to all students that opens as early as 7:00 am and closes at 6:00 pm.

Jaguar Club fees are not included in tuition, if a students qualifies for financial assistance that is applied to Jaguar Club.

We look for students with intellectual curiosity, who think creatively, and are excited to become a member of the St. Joseph community.

We hold a Kindergarten Information Night in October and January. These are great opportunities to hear from our Head of School, Primary School Director, Kindergarten Team and current parents.

Applicants applying for 6th-8th may schedule a shadow day visit through the Director of Enrollment Management. Students must submit a complete application to schedule a shadow visit. Grade-level cohort shadow visits are offered in February and March on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Yes! We offer campus tours on Wednesdays and select weekends, October-January. Tours include an opportunity to meet the Head of School, Directors, and 8th-grade Student Ambassadors.

Once the following items are submitted your application file is considered complete:

  • Application
  • A teacher recommendation from the student's current homeroom teacher
  • School transcripts and/or copies of report cards - for students in 1st-8th grade
  • Family Participation form-for students coming from preschool or private school
  • Standardized Test scores-if your child's school participates in testing
  • Application Fee

Notification emails are sent in mid-March. The parent/guardian response (confirmation and deposit) is due seven days post offer.

When an applicant is considered to be a good fit for our program, but space is not available, the applicant is placed in the wait pool. Typically, we offer placement to students in the wait pool within the first two weeks to one month after notification. Occasionally an opening may occur in late spring or summer, so it is important to keep us informed of your continued interest in St. Joseph School.

The Academic Year begins before Labor Day.

We will also take time off for the following:

  • Thanksgiving (one week)
  • Christmas (two weeks)
  • Mid-winter (one week, usually around Presidents Day)
  • Easter (one week, starting the Monday after Easter)

The school year ends mid-June

School hours are 8:15 am to 3:00 pm for our primary school (grades K-4) students and 8:15 am to 3:10 pm for our middle school (grades 5-8) students.

Main office hours during the school year are 7:30 am to 4:00 pm.
