What Is Scrip? Scrip (scrip) n. 1. A really weird name for a really great fundraising idea. Scrip is a term that means “substitute money”. When you purchase Scrip, you’re purchasing gift certificates and prepaid cards that are used just like cash. You can use Scrip to purchase everyday items like food, clothing, and other essentials, and with every purchase, you earn revenue for our school. For instance, let’s say you shop at QFC. If you pay with a gift card you’ve purchased from St. Joseph School, your groceries cost you the same amount, but our school earns 5%. In a typical year St. Joseph School earns $20,000 to $30,000 from Scrip sales. This page tells you all your need to know to help us earn even more this year. Buying Scrip is the easiest way to support our school. However, only a small percentage of our families regularly purchase Scrip. If every family at St. Joseph School had a Standing Order of $500 a month for grocery Scrip, our school would make $64,800! Can people outside of St. Joseph School use our Scrip? You bet they can. Granparents love Scrip! If your company gives gift cards at year end or for bonuses, why not buy them from St. Joseph? We will happily accommodate your bulk orders. Scrip is "shopping cart fundraising” Scrip is a popular fundraiser because families don’t have to sell anything. St. Joseph families produce revenue by making regular household purchases they would make anyway. Groceries, clothing, toys, gifts, even gasoline can be purchased with Scrip. Scrip delivery options: Will Call in the Special Events office or at the Scrip table for parent pick up BASEP office for parent pick-up. Designated student to take home **If a completed Release is on file** Tuesday Early Dismissal parking lot delivery and order pick-up (** See enclosed flyer**) You will love this! You don’t even have to get out of your car!! Scrip order options: Stop by the Scrip table outside the Special Events Office any morning and purchase your Scrip. A cheery volunteer will be waiting to assist you. Register with our new ShopWithScrip program through www.glscrip.com and pick up or have your Scrip delivered to you Send in a Scrip Order Form and check in with your child. Simply print out a form from the Scrip link under “Quick Links” on the school website. If you need more Scrip forms just call any of the phone numbers below or shoot any of us an e-mail and we will be sure to send more forms home with your child. Complete a Standing Order form. Just print out a form from the SCRIP link under “Quick Links” on the school website. Pay with credit card, debit card, on-line bill pay or check. Hand over your order to parent Marissa Spooner-LeDuff in the parking lot on Tuesdays by simply turning on your hazard lights. A Standing Order is a simple way to automatically order Scrip each month. You can pay with a check, debit card, credit card or on-line bill pay through your bank. This is great for groceries and coffee! Standing Order Scrip will be ready for pick up or delivery to you on the first Thursday of each month. You will receive an auto-email reminder that your Scrip is coming and your credit card or debit card will be charged, your check will be cashed or to alert you that it’s time to send in your monthly check. http://www.glscrip.com/shapeimage_2_link_0
